Toileting Resources

Toileting challenges are tough! Whether toddler potty training versus older children experiencing enuresis, encopresis or just general backsliding, it can be just as hard on families as it is on kids. Children who have experienced trauma and disrupted attachments, or physical or sexual abuse, can reflect trauma in their toileting patterns. For some children, their bodily abilities may be directly physically impacted. Others have genetic tendencies or health conditions that impact toileting. Either way shame and punishment are not the answer! Kids need patience, empathy and practicality to solve these challenges - just like you do. Below are some resources that can help! "Kids with trauma history don't need more punishment. And quite frankly, they don't need more stickers." ~Dr. Ross Greene - author in ORPARC's library
