Nov 4
Wednesday, November 4, 2026 – 4:30pm
4:30pm - 6:00pm

What should educators know about BIPOC adoptees?

In recognition of National Adoptee Awareness Month, BIPOC Adoptees is partnering with the Portland State University College of Education for its Dean’s Series to center the voices of adoptees of color.
Brief presentations will be followed by a moderated panel with four BIPOC adoptee speakers who will share their experiences of adoption, foster care and belonging, including what they need from schools, educators and communities. You’ll leave with practical ways to better support adopted students and their families.
This event is free and open to all: students, faculty, educators and community members.
