11:00am - 12:00pm

Our second webinar "Person-Centered Support: Solutions Designed with a Profound Respect for the Journey" will be on Wednesday May 20th at 2pm et. Presenters Claudette Fette OTR, PhD, FAOTA and Gail Cormier will focus on what is true person-centered support and why addressing the self-identified supports of each individual is the most effective path to building family and community resilience that benefits everyone.

Claudette came to both mental health and occupational therapy after having failed through multiple systems with her oldest son, Aaron. Her book, No Saint’s Here: A Cautionary Tale of Mental Illness, Health, and the Cost of Ignorance in the Lone Star State (2025) is part her and Aaron’s memoirs walking through the struggles they faced throughout his life, paired with evidence-based solutions that could have better supported Aaron. Claudette has worked for nearly three decades in mental health settings including acute psychiatric hospital, homeless shelters, schools and community practice. Today, she teaches mental health content at Texas Woman’s University School of Occupational Therapy and continues to be active supporting mental health across the lifespan at local, state and national levels. She co-authored recent chapters on wraparound, recovery, and families in OT texts, was a keynote speaker at the Southeastern School Behavioral Health Conference in April 2026 speaking to the importance of enabling strengths and competence.

Gail Cormier brings over 25 years of experience providing national and statewide technical assistance and expertise working with families, youth, and young adults. She is a proven national family leader with both professional and family-lived experience. Cormier’s knowledge is demonstrated by her work at several levels. At the national level, she partners in the development of federal programs that serve at-risk and vulnerable individuals, families, and their loved ones.
