Exploring and Expressing Love in AANHPI Families

Apr 6
Monday, April 6, 2026 – 12:00pm
12:00pm - 1:00pm

Episode 1: Love, Lost in Translation

  • April 6, 2026, 3–4 pm ET / 12–1 pm PT
  • Love is an organizing framework: How is love experienced and expressed from a wide range of differing cultural and intergenerational perspectives among AANHPI children and families? How do we talk about love, when do we not? How does love get integrated through the arts, through oral stories, through ancestral everyday traditions? How does love get transmitted between and among generations, where can we find it in the space in-between, what of love does not need to be spoken but shown? Join us as we reflect together about how the multitude of senses of sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste are woven into how love is expressed and how our senses are an integral part of how the action of love moves intergenerationally.

Everyone is welcome to join us for We Are AANHPI Families, a free, engaging four-episode virtual conversation series where we come together to share stories and collective wisdom within and across cultures. Centering AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander) families’ lived experiences and future possibilities, this series braids the promises and challenges of multigenerational, multicultural child-rearing while honoring practices, heritages, languages, traditions, and the many different ways love is expressed.

All episodes are on Mondays, from 3–4 pm ET / 12–1 pm PT. Don't miss these additional dates as well:

  • April 27 – Generational Homecoming: Multigenerational and Multicultural Child-rearing
  • May 18 – Walking in Both Worlds
  • June 22Topic coming soon!
