An open, compassionate space led by transracial/interracial adoptees

All transracial/interracial adoptees deserve to have parents who know that race matters. We have created this course to give adoptive parents a compassionate space to learn about race and racism, move theory into practice, and much more.

In this course you will learn about:

• The struggle for identity of transracial adoptees
• The role race & racism play in your family and community
• How to talk age-appropriately about race & racism
• The history of race & adoption in the U.S.

Our team of transracial adoptee educators, Astrid, Shelise, and Jordan, delve into these topics, offering valuable insights on enhancing education around transracial adoption. – ultimately improving the lives of both the adoptee and the family altogether.

*ODHS-Child Welfare is excited to announce a partnership with Adoption Mosaic, offering their services and programs free to Oregon designated pre-adoptive placements, post-adoption and guardianship parents and adult adoptees. Adoption Mosaic is an adoptee-led, BIPOC woman-owned business based in Oregon, that creates for and connects the adoption constellation community through adoptee-centered events, "We the Experts: Adoptee Speaker Series Panels", consultations, and education courses including "Transracial Parenting" (starting Sept. 10th), for adoptive, pre-adoptive, and guardianship parents, .These services are available to relative families and families residing out of state who have a child(ren) placed for adoption or guardianship through Oregon child welfare. Eligible families can fill out this application to get started!
