Spreading HOPE

This foundational HOPE presentation will cover the importance of Positive Childhood Experiences, the research showing their mitigating effects on ACEs, the neurobiological basis for these effects, the four building blocks of HOPE, and type 1 vs. type 2 thinking. The presentation will introduce some ideas of how to incorporate the HOPE Framework into practice.

Participants will:

  • Identify the Four Building Blocks of HOPE
  • Understand the importance of Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) on adult mental health
  • Review the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 thinking

Who should attend: All staff of family resource center (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), and other family-serving organizations.

NOTE: Implementation sessions will be offered for leadership and direct service staff on December 7 & 8, 2021. Registration will be limited; priority will be given to staff who attend the foundational presentation, Spreading HOPE.
