Description

This group is specifically for grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren.

If you or someone you know are struggling with isolation and raising young grandchildren, and would like to connect with others and increase your parenting skills, this is the group for you!

This no-cost education and support group offers an opportunity for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren to connect with others going through similar experiences.

Attendees are invited to discuss family relations, health concerns, parenting and discipline, financial concerns, and community resources. Previous topics covered include acheiving legal guardianship, custody issues, and substance abuse issues. The group will set the goals and the therapist will work with the group to meet their needs.

Group meets bi-monthly. Snacks and beverages provided. Please contact facilitator prior to attending to verify date.

Description

Meets the second Monday of every month.

The group is for previous, current and prospective foster and adoptive parents. Come and meet other parents to share support, attend trainings, and learn about being the best parent you can be!

Families are encouraged to come at 6pm to order food and get settled.

Children are welcome to attend as there is a play area for the kids.

NAMI Family Support Group is a peer-led support group for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances.

NAMI’s Support Groups are unique because they follow a structured model, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard and to get what they need.

  • Free of cost to participants
  • Designed for adult loved ones (18+) of individuals living with mental illness
  • Led by family members of individuals living with mental illness
  • No specific medical therapy or medication is endorsed or recommended
  • Confidential

Each meeting includes a family dinner and an educational speaker focusing on topics related to children’s mental health, behavioral challenges, autism, and developmental diversity. Speakers are followed by support group time for those who wish to stay and participate.

Description

Group meets weekly October - June. Schedule depends on school site.

A school-based prevention program to support teenage girls who are survivors of trauma. Groups use an evidence-based curriculum to support girls in understanding how surviving trauma has impacted them and making sense of their trauma in a way that allows them to move successfully into their futures. Group members learn healthy coping skills, learn about trauma and its effects, and support each other in telling their survival stories.

Groups meet at the following Mid-Willamette Valley schools:
