Parenting Teens

This training is for resource families looking for more advanced training on the subject of parenting teens. Normal adolescent development and the challenging characteristics of teens are explained, and new brain research is discussed regarding changes to, and understanding the limitations of the teen brain. This training helps caregivers learn to analyze messages before communicating with teens, so their communication is more effective. Because teens in care are often dysregulated a number of calming strategies for teens are introduced to assist caregivers work with their teen in care. And an overview of the tools available to help teens transition into adulthood.
