Defining the 6 Core Components of Sexuality

When it comes to teaching someone about healthy sexual development, do you know… where to begin? the difference between sex and sexuality? how to talk about sexuality as a birth-to-death experience? understand how sexuality and relationships relate to someone’s behavior? In order to support someone’s healthy sexual development you must start with a basic understanding of ‘sex’ vs. ‘sexuality’. This training will teach you the six core components of sexuality and how to break them down into smaller pieces for teaching and skill building. Participants will:

• Realize the limitations of the word ‘sex’

• Be able to articulate the difference between sex vs. sexuality

• Learn The Six Core Components of Sexuality

• Recognize sexuality as a birth-to-death experience

• Understand how sexuality and relationships relate to behavior

• Articulate why it is imperative for parents and professionals to address sexuality and relationships proactively
