FASD is more prevalent than most people realize. This workshop covers understanding development and how alcohol affects the brain, as well as practical suggestions on how to address challenging behaviors in people experiencing FASD. We will examine specific cognitive skills that are impacted by FASD, and develop of a list of cognitive supports for participants to use with the people they are working with. By understanding how cognitive skills impact behaviors, caregivers can be equipped to more effectively prevent and respond to challenging behaviors, as well as enhance quality of life for everyone involved.
